Help Support the UCPREF/AACPDM jointly sponsored Workshop:
“Adults with Cerebral Palsy: A Workshop to Define the Challenges of Treating and Preventing the Secondary Complications in this Rapidly Growing Population”
Society needs to address aging in cerebral palsy from a standpoint of best care, continuity of care, and prevention of early loss in function as the adult with CP is a growing population due to improved survival of low birth weight infants and concomitant increasing longevity. The purpose of this 1 and a half day workshop will be to create a multidisciplinary effort that clearly outlines the magnitude of the problem and explore the potential of new noninvasive imaging techniques and of neurorehabilitation modalities such as body-weight supported treadmill training, discuss the best and worst options for anti-spasticity treatments and the latest findings in functional electrical stimulation.
Please pledge your support for this timely and urgently needed workshop on how to prevent and/or mitigate secondary musculoskeletal complications in adults with CP.
